In "Military-Industrial Complex to Permanent War State," Gareth Porter tracks the explosive expansion of militarism in the U.S. The historian and investigative journalist concludes that now is the "right historical moment to harness the latent anti-militarist sentiment in the country to a conscious strategy for political change."
